Neighborhood
Welcome to our neighborhood! We picked out some things that you might like.
See
- Battery Park City Esplanade: Walk up and down the Hudson; nice any time of day.
- Sea Glass Carousel: Most beautiful in the evening, but it's open all day.
- One World Trade: Tickets to the observatory are spendy, so skip that and just walk around the grounds of the tallest building in the western hemisphere.
- Liberty Park: New park overlooking WTC has a touch of High Line.
- The Oculus: The crazy transportation center designed like a bird taking flight.
- Staten Island Ferry: Free ferry ride leaves every half-hour. Beautiful views, goes by Statue of Liberty.
Shop
- Brookfield Place: Don't call it a mall. (It's a mall.)
- Le District: Don't call it a "French Eataly." (Yeah.)
- South Street Seaport: Directly on the other side of Manhattan from us, a 15-minute walk.
EaT & DrinK
- Shake Shack: Michelle has been known to enjoy their cheese fries occasionally.
- Le Bar: Sunset + waterfront + drinks + oysters + fries. We're there every Friday in the summer: #BatteryParkFridays.
- Amada: Our new favorite place — fantastic tapas with outdoor seating, like you were on the shores of Andalusia.
- Locanda Verde: Don't miss the sheep's milk ricotta (Rex's favorite). You'll want a reservation for this one.
- Hudson Eats: Good for something quick. Food court includes Black Seed Bagels, Umami Burger, Little Muenster, Blue Ribbon Sushi — can't go wrong.
- Parm: Hopefully the mozz sticks will be back on the menu by then.
- Pier A: Gaze out on the Statue of Liberty and have a drink. Close to the Sea Glass Carousel.
- Inatteso Pizzabar Casano: Our favorite pizza in the 'hood.
- El Vez: Kitchy Mexican with lots of cheese.
- Evening Bar: Chill spot in Tribeca. Next to Little Park.
- Loopy Doopy: Rooftop bar atop the Conrad.
